Willie Randolph's Job to be Decided This Weekend

There is a report coming out of the New York Mets organization, claiming that manager Willie Randolph has until this weekend to improve his club's status. If Randolph is unsuccessful, he will likely get the hook. If this is the case, bench coach Jerry Manual will take his spot as interim manager. Randolph led the Mets to the 2006 NLCS, only to suffer an epic collapse last season, leading the Mets to miss the playoffs. He has been subject to much criticism this season, and it does not appear he has much longer in a Mets uniform.

Breaking News: MLB Likely to Use Replay Starting August 1st

The breaking news of the day appears to be that Major League Baseball is expected to start limited instant replay use starting August 1st, the day after the Trade Deadline. Replay has never been used in any form of organized baseball before, so expect it to be experimental. As for what limited means, one can expect home run calls only, as there have been over 10 blown home run calls thus far this season. More to come later on.
