Breaking News: Da' Tara Wins Belmont Stakes

The crowd fell silent. Mouth's dropped, voices gasped. Da'Tara pulled off a shocking upset, beating the 1-4 favored Big Brown in the Belmont Stakes. What does this mean? It means that there will yet again, be no Triple Crown winner. Kent Desormeaux saw the Big Brown was not feeling well, and pulled him up after he fell back in the field. It is possible Brown was kicked, or inhaled dirt, but it is not known at this point. But as for the winner, Da'Tara, trained by Nick Zito, won by numerous lengths. This is the second time that a Nick Zito horse has ruined a Triple Crown attempt, as he also ruined Smarty Jones with Birdstone. A heartbreaking loss for Big Brown at Belmont.
