
Wade Redden, defenseman for the Ottawa Senators, has signed a six-year $39 million contract with the New York Rangers. The 31-year old from Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Canada played 80 regular season games for the Senators last year, scoring six goals and 32 assists; he also had one assist in the playoffs to boot.
In addition to Redden, the Rangers have signed Michal Rozsival to a four-year $20 million contract. The 29-year old defenseman from Vlasim, Czech Republic scored 13 goals and 25 assists in 80 regular season games for the Rangers last season, in the playoffs, he scored a goal and five assists.
Other notable free agents that have yet to sign with a team include Mats Sundin and Marian Hossa. Although not official yet, rumor has it that Jaromir Jagr will return to his old team, Pittsburgh Penguins, next season. More news to follow shortly.
