Rafael Nadal Wins at Wimbledon

It's over! After a seven-hour marathon, including rain delays, Rafael Nadal has ended Roger Federer's streak of 65 consecutive wins on grass in dramatic fashion!

Nadal defeated Federer by the score of 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7. This match, which lasted five hours, was the longest match in Wimbledon History, and it was the first match to end after 9:00 PM.

With that win, Rafael Nadal becomes the first player since Bjorn Borg in 1980 to win both Wimbledon and the French Open in the same year.

In the fifth set of this epic tennis match, each player won their first seven service games, but Federer lost the 15th game while serving, which allowed Nadal to serve for the match in the 16th game. Federer didn't back down, however, forcing a deuce, but his unforced errors killed him as Nadal went on to take the title.

In the ladies' side, Venus Williams defeated sister Serena in straight sets to win her fifth Wimbledon title.

With Nadal's win today, its safe to assume now that Nadal is definitely the best tennis player in the world beating Federer on his home turf.

You said it. No disappointment to Federer tho it was an amazing comeback to win two tiebreakers let alone one!

But now with Nadal's vitory, I have a really strong feeling next year he could get the grand slam. He'll dominate the French Open like he always does and his transition to grass and other courts is doing way better than Federer's transition to clay.
