Michael Beasley's first practice as a member of the Miami Heat had to end because he elbow he took to the chest form an unidentified teammate. Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra claims the measure was completely precautionary, and said that if this was during the regular season Beasley would have come back if needed. Spoelstra says the injury will not affect Beasley's five games in five days run by the Orlando summer league.
