Marc-Andre Fleury in Goal for Penguins Next Season

The oscillating roller coaster ride continues for the Pittsburgh Penguins as goalie Marc-Andre Fleury signed a seven-year, $35 million contract extension with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 23-year old from Sorel, Quebec, Canada was the goalie for the Penguins in the playoffs as his stellar goaltending propelled the Penguins to the Stanley Cup Finals. During the regular season, Fleury acquired a GAA of 2.33 and a save % of 0.921. His game improved in the playoffs as he allowed 1.97 goals per game, saving 93.3% of all shots faced.

In addition, the Penguins have added Miroslav Satan and Ruslan Fedotenko from the New York Islanders. Both signed one-year contracts with Satan earning $3.5 million and Fedotenko earning $2.5 million.

Unfortunately for the Pens, they have lost Georges Laraque as he signed a three-year $4.5 million contract with his hometown team: the Montreal Canadiens. The 31-year old Right Winger scored four goals and nine assists in 71 regular season games for the Penguins last year to go along with his one goal and two assists in 15 playoff games.
