Furcal on Disabled List Longer

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Rafael Furcal had been on the Disabled List since May 6 with back problems. He was scheduled to return to the lineup at around the All-Star Break.

Now, expect Furcal to be on the Disabled List for at least eight more weeks. He tried to make a comeback by playing in a AAA game last week, but soreness in his back will preclude him from playing for a while to come.

Furcal has played just 32 games this season. He is currently batting .366 with five home runs, 16 RBI and 34 runs scored.
