Evans Retains Yellow Jersey going into Alps

Heading into the Alps, Australia's Cadel Evans will still be wearing the yellow jersey for the fifth day in a row. He currently holds a 1-second lead over Frank Schleck of Luxembourg while American rider Christian Vandevelde trails Evans by 38 seconds. However, the Alps will likely alter the leader board.

Spanish rider Oscar Freire won stage 14 with a time of 4:13:08. The 32-year-old Rabobank rider needed a last-second sprint to get his first stage victory of the year and fourth career stage victory.
