In his first start in a Brewer's uniform, pitcher CC Sabathia threw for six strong innings in a 7-3 win for the Milwaukee Brewers over the Colorado Rockies.Sabathia allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits. Sabathia also allowed 5 walks tying a career high but cancels that out with 5 strikeouts. Sabathia threw 97 pitches in his first appearance as a Brewer.
Ryan Braun was able to give run support to Sabathia belting a 3-run home run. Rickie Weeks also had a strong game going 3 for 4 on the day.
Milawaukee (50-40) are currently 3rd in the NL central, 4 games behind the division leading Chicago Cubs, who picked up pitcher Rich Harden yesterday from the Oakland Athletics.
Colorado (38-53) are 4th in the NL West trailing the leading Arizona Diamonbacks by 7.5 games.
The winner was CC Sabathia (1-0), the loser was Mark Redman (2-4)
